Beloved Father,

            I have looked into the eyes of a child and the transparency of that gaze disarmed me. I saw no guile, no fear, no pretence – only the joy of one created in love by Love. I saw his delight with the world, his acceptance of all who came within his view. I wept for what I once had and now have lost.

            Can I be a child again, Beloved Father? Can I look upon life as ever-new, ever-welcome and ever-blessed? Can my eyes see without judging, my ears hear without condemnation? Can I trust that what I may encounter, be it easy or difficult, is the straightest, fastest way to You?

Papa, let me be as a child again.
