The Promises of Christ for Comfort & Healing

Promise 9:      Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

John 14: 27

My dear Brother,

I am surrounded by my fears. I fear hunger, I fear pain, I fear death. But the greatest of all my fears is the fear that I am alone, now and forever. Not even my loved ones can ease the cold loneliness of my mind and heart. Who will keep me company in this dark night of my soul?

Dearest Brother, I long for the comfort and certainty that is only possible from the direct experience of your eternal presence. When I abide with You, my mind is quiet and my heart at peace. With You, there is nothing to fear, not life, not death, not extinction. Teach me how to give all of my fears to You for healing. When this little life is over, let me return joyfully into your waiting arms.
