When grapes turn
to wine, they long for our ability to change.

When stars wheel
around the North Pole,
they are longing for our growing consciousness.

Wine got drunk with us,
not the other way.
The body developed out of us, not we from it.

We are bees
and our body is a honeycomb.
We made
the body, cell by cell we made it.

Rumi (1207 – 1273) is a Sufi mystic and poet and the founder of Melevi, escatatic dancers (Whirling Dervishes). He has been described as the world’s most popular poet.

What came first – the mind or the body? Eight hundred years ago Rumi answered the question that scientists are still struggling to understand. It is the Mind/Conscious that is the ground of being, the Architect of Reality. “The body developed out of us, not we from it.” This is the basis of all that we may describe as the action of miracles. If we, the Mind, envision something, we bring it into manifestation. This envisioning must be deeply felt, the belief in this power must be absolute. We are the ultimate Cause, the Zero Point. Cell by cell we make our lives.
