The Promises of Christ for Comfort & Healing
Promise 37: Father, if it is Your will, remove this cup from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.
Luke 22: 42
My Brother,
My life has always centered around what I wanted and needed, what I willed. When life was not what I expected, I demanded, I wept, I despaired. There was nothing I obeyed but my own desires. I would surrender nothing willingly.
But You, my Brother, surrendered everything, obeyed Our Father’s requests, held nothing back. You understood that God allowed to happen only that which would most swiftly lead You to Him; that God’s will is only for our highest good.
Do we not cry out to Our Father most sincerely when we are hurt or lost? How can we regret what brings us closer to God. Teach me how to love the Father, how to trust that what I have is what my soul needs. Teach me how to surrender to His everlasting love.
Teach me to trust in our Father.
