Font of All My Joy,

            All of my life my list of desires has been endless. I have been pulled by desires for health, for money, for love, but their fulfillment is temporary and has not brought me the happiness I long for.   Finally, I realized that it is not happiness I seek, but joy. While happiness depends on fulfilling a desire, joy is eternal and needs no reason or cause.

But is joy possible if we are struggling with pain, poverty, loneliness, or sorrow? Can we  live a joyful life no matter what our circumstances? The joy we seek lies beyond earthly desires and is beyond reason or cause. The joy we seek lies with you, my Beloved, and I ask for the joy you promised. I thirst for the Well whose waters never run dry.  

I ask for Joy.
