Promise Two: In My Father’s house are many mansions….
I go to prepare a place for you.
John 14:2
Dearest Jesus,
How comforting it is to know that when I pass from this life into the next that You will be waiting for me with arms wide open. When you enfold me into your embrace, all of my fears and sorrows will melt away. My lonely heart will be at peace and you will lead me home.
Until that time, I will make a home for You. I will set up an altar deep within my heart where only You abide. At the end of each day, I will lay my head upon Your breast and share with You my joys and fears and happiness and sorrows.
Holding me close, you will remind me of the mansion you are preparing for me when my time in this world is over. You tell me that all of my loved ones – my family, my friends, my animals – who have gone before me are awaiting my return. All of the good that I have done has been remembered and saved; all of my mistakes and shortcomings forgotten. When I walk through Heaven’s Door choirs of angels will rejoice and lead me Home.
Even now He is preparing a home for me.
